# Device application removal

The device inventory provides a trash button for non-home apps. A localized dialog names the app and package and asks for confirmation, including the possible loss of local app data. UIC Home has no removal control. Offline devices and agents without uninstall_application.v1 have disabled controls.

The Portal redirects back to the same Applications tab with the removal task visible and refreshes its state automatically. After verified removal succeeds, the Portal requests a fresh terminal status report and reloads the inventory so the removed application disappears without a manual refresh.

The service requires explicit confirmation, membership/customer scope, an online device, the reported capability and inventory membership. It rejects the reported agent package and UIC Home package family. The agent independently rejects its own package, UIC Home packages, the active Android home app and system/system-update apps.

UIC Home 3.5.0-dev (8) calls the NEWPOS/NEXGO uninstall SDK through the brand interface. The durable command records the attempt before invoking the SDK, then polls package absence for up to two minutes; redelivery does not invoke uninstall again. Success requires the matching package ID and absent=true. Commands expire after five minutes. Results appear in Recent commands; periodic telemetry refreshes inventory.

Validation: both Android flavors built and 139 integration checks passed, including missing confirmation, protected home, missing inventory, idempotency and absence evidence. NEWPOS test agent updated in place; portal confirms UIC Home has no uninstall button. No real device application was uninstalled. Physical uninstall remains to be tested with a disposable app.
