# Remote Control operations

The device Operations tab now presents a responsive Remote Control button panel in English and Spanish.

| Operation | Interaction | Availability |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Send message | Dialog with required text, maximum 500 characters | Online and `send_message.v1` capability |
| Reboot | Dialog with explicit confirmation and interruption warning | Online and `reboot.v1` capability |
| Request status | Direct operation button | Online and `report_status.v1` capability |
| Remote assistance | Disabled placeholder | Pending secure relay/session integration |

Availability refreshes every 15 seconds while the page is visible and before opening a dialog. The refresh preserves the selected language. If availability cannot be confirmed, controls are disabled. Both desktop and phone layouts were visually checked, including Spanish dialogs.

The data service independently checks the live MQTT connection lease, customer/device scope and advertised operation capability when accepting a new request. Reboot requires explicit confirmation. Message/status requests expire after 60 seconds; reboot requests have a 5-minute completion window; accepted delivery is not proof of successful execution. Existing request identifiers retain idempotent behavior. Application deployments use their separate immediate/scheduled workflow.

UIC Home 3.2.0-dev implements message, status and reboot operations. See chapter 21 for durable execution, verified completion, physical tests and remaining background-execution limits. Remote assistance remains disabled.

Verification: 104 integration checks pass, including offline operation rejection, unsupported online operation rejection, reboot confirmation, customer isolation and the button/dialog rendering. Dialog interactions were checked with an isolated integration-test fixture.
